Summer is almost here which mean t-shirt season is upon us. Instead of having a normal plain white shirt why not spice it up with some color! Here are a few easy steps to create a masterpiece that will be a staple in anyone’s wardrobe.
What you need:
White t-shirt
Soda ash
Bucket
Rubber bands
Scissors
Dye (I find most of my shirt dye from Michaels Craft Store)
Patience

Step one:
Fill up a bucket of warm/ hot water and mix it with soda ash. Then, soak your bland t-shirt in the mixture for 20 minutes. This will help the fabric hold the dye through multiple trips to the washer machine.

Step two:
Ring out your t-shirt, but do NOT rinse or wash. Spread your shirt flat on the table and create your design by twisting and pinching the fabric. To create a spiral, pinch the center and twist until all the fabric is in a circle.

Step three:
Take you rubber bands and band them around the shirt to hold it in place. This also creates sections for different colors to go.

Step four:
Let your imagination take over and use whichever colors your heart desires. Make sure the entire shirt is soaked in dye. Then let it sit for 8-24 hours. The longer you let it soak in the better and brighter the colors will turn out.

Cut the rubber bands off with scissors and rinse the shirt out until there is almost no color running in the water.

Put your new t-shirt into the washer machine and then the dryer.
